Job Title: Construction Inspector II

At SAM, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Inspector II to join our team. As a key member of our construction engineering and inspection team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field inspections and oversight of construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of project progress, including daily reports and inspection notes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Review and verify compliance with governmental regulations and project requirements.
  • Assist with coordinating materials sampling and testing, and verify accuracy of payment requests and invoicing.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support the company's strategic goals.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) for transportation projects.
  • Basic knowledge of DOT specifications and standards, with ability and willingness to study and advance relevant knowledge outside of work.
  • Familiarity with SiteManager software is preferred, but not required.
  • Must have functional computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have the ability to complete inspector certification courses, such as DOT classes in hot-mix asphalt and ACI concrete sampling and testing.
