Job Summary:
JMT is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our Facilities - CM Team in the Dallas, TX area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
- Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
- Work with clients to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction-related field issues.
- Gather and maintain record documents, make field notes, and computations.
- Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.
Requirements:
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Active driver's license.
- Able to work throughout the State of Texas on a permanent basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of construction inspection experience.
- Client-requested certifications.
Working Conditions:
The work is performed in the field, and the ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
