About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced TxDOT Chief Inspector to join our Construction Services team at HNTB. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing TxDOT contracts and ensuring that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and verify work in progress to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents, and plans.
  • Advise contractor superintendents on necessary actions to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, and contract.
  • Review and resolve quantity disputes with contractors.
  • Perform on-site material testing and assist with equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with as-built record drawings and contract close-out documentation.
  • Participate in project progress meetings and serve as a field technical subject matter expert.
  • Lead daily assignments, mentor, and train employees as needed.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Engineering, Construction Services, or related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Services, or related field and 8 years of relevant experience, or
  • In lieu of degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
