Position Overview

The Account Manager serves as the primary contact between clients and the company, ensuring a constructive relationship and managing a portfolio of accounts. This role encompasses all commercial matters, engineering modifications, and product lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Business Unit Manager for the GM product line in all commercial aspects of the account.
  • Develop and manage special projects that involve cost analysis and customer engagement workshops.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure all account details are accurately reconciled.
  • Oversee specific account responsibilities, including purchase orders, pricing, part numbers, applicable accruals, capacity constraints, and engineering modifications.
  • Engage with clients on significant account activities.
  • Coordinate the resolution of outstanding commercial matters related to tooling, financing, tooling refurbishment, and engineering modifications.
  • Participate in, attend, and/or lead client meetings to discuss timelines, objectives, and other activities related to project launches and ongoing programs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance project margins by cultivating a positive and proactive working relationship.
  • Seek new business opportunities as appropriate, adhering to company protocols.
  • Be prepared to travel for business purposes up to 10% within North America.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate information to management.
  • Familiarity with the automotive sector.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility in schedule and willingness to work beyond standard hours when necessary, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • Understanding of General Motors Systems such as EWO, TWO, 1804, and 1810 is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.
  • Competence in reading, analyzing, and creating various documentation related to tooling, sales, or engineering.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to take initiative and independently manage responsibilities.
  • Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts clearly for others to understand.
