Job Title: Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Thies & Talle Management, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our apartment communities, including performing repairs, maintenance, and preventative maintenance tasks.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing repair and preventative maintenance of all buildings on-site, including maintaining the lawn and surrounding property. This individual will also uphold company standards with regard to budgets, maintenance, and upkeep guidelines and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resident needs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify and address potential maintenance issues
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of appliances, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Perform snow and ice removal, including snowblowing, shoveling, and applying salt
  • Replace unit locks on rental units as necessary and maintain security of premises
  • Coordinate and oversee work of sub-contractors hired by the company
  • Purchase approved supplies and materials as needed
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and two to three years of experience as a general maintenance mechanic or related occupation
  • Ability to read, analyze, and complete documentation required by city, county, state or federal agencies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and outside agencies
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in cramped positions for extended periods of time, work on hands and knees, and reach with hands and arms and balance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.

May come into contact with unsanitary conditions in unoccupied or occupied homes of residents and contact with insects and/or rodents.

The position has the potential to come into contact with human waste (plugged toilets) and noxious fumes (natural gas).

Pay Rate:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
