Marine Rigger Specialist

Position: Shipyard Rigger
As a Shipyard Rigger, you will be responsible for executing essential rigging tasks within a maritime environment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to follow precise instructions. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in rigging practices, including familiarity with ship terminology and blueprint interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate technical proficiency in rigging operations and equipment handling.
- Ensure the completion of daily assignments, maintaining records of work quality and completion.
- Foster a safe working environment in compliance with quality, safety, and health regulations.
- Utilize various rigging equipment, selecting appropriate cables, pulleys, and winches based on load specifications.
- Attach rigging devices securely to overhead structures and loads.
- Provide clear instructions to crane operators to ensure safe lifting and movement of materials.
- Conduct tests on cranes and rigging setups, interpreting load charts and blueprints accurately.
- Adapt to various shifts and perform additional tasks as required.
Education and Experience: Candidates must demonstrate practical skills relevant to rigging operations.
Language Skills: Ability to read and understand instructions and communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic arithmetic and unit conversions.
Reasoning Ability: Capability to apply common sense to solve problems and follow detailed instructions.
Physical RequirementsThe role demands physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions. Specific requirements include:
- Ability to lift and move weights ranging from 20 lbs to 100 lbs.
- Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Proficiency in using personal protective equipment as per safety standards.
The work environment varies from standard office settings to outdoor conditions, including exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures. Adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
