Purpose and Relevance

To drive commercial and business relationships with suppliers in line with adidas' policies, commercial objectives, and procurement best practices for non-trade procurement categories. This role is responsible for maximizing profitability, demand management, and negotiated pricing adherence within non-trade procurement priority categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute non-trade procurement category strategies in alignment with senior management and business partners.
  • Focus on demand management, price agreement adherence, process improvement, and supplier compliance.
  • Analyze and reconcile adidas' non-trade procurement contracts, actuals, and billing/performance issues.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Drive sourcing and supplier strategies, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and standards.
  • Review, administer, and advise on contract management, compliance, and risk management to ensure maximum value delivery to adidas.
  • Develop and manage pricing compliance, monitoring, and reconciliation processes with non-trade rostered suppliers.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in procurement and development projects, supporting team members in their tasks and activities.
  • Generate operational efficiencies, pricing reconciliation processes, and budgetary scrutiny on spend patterns/behaviors for reporting and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive supplier selection processes, negotiate contracts, and resolve disputes.
  • Continuously learn and develop procurement knowledge and methodologies, driving innovation and improvement within the procurement function.
Key Relationships
  • North America stakeholders in finance, legal, marketing, workplaces, corporate real estate, retail, supply chain, IT, and other priority non-trade procurement areas.
  • Global and Regional counterparts in finance, legal, marketing, workplaces, corporate real estate, retail, supply chain, IT, and other priority non-trade procurement areas, as well as global counterparts and GBS.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement methodologies, concepts, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of the supply base within non-trade procurement categories, availability of products/services, bottleneck criteria, cost levers, new technologies, and procedural best practices.
  • Knowledge of brand strategy and application in non-trade procurement and finance.
  • Proven ability to drive category strategy, supplier selection, and management, as well as cost adherence, reconciliation, negotiation, and contract observance.
  • Ability to support and develop sourcing strategies to face market trends, identify market trends, and bring in outside perspectives on market trends, conditions, competitive landscape, and future cost or supply chain trends.
  • Knowledge and experience in stakeholders and supplier relationship management, employment contracts, work-labor contracts, claim management, liability, warranty, and international procurement-related legislation.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Deep analytical prowess and expertise in writing, reviewing, administering, and reconciling contracts to provide maximum performance while ensuring cost agreements are adhered to fully.
  • Action-oriented and solution-minded team player with high self-management.
  • Capability to independently interact throughout the organization.
  • Project management knowledge and experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP/SRM a plus.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
  • International, diverse mindset.
Requisite Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree with emphasis on business, economics, finance, procurement, or legal, or comparable professional education.
  • 5 years of general business experience, preferably in procurement.
  • Good experience in supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting.
