$66,000.00 - $99,000.00

The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate of pay include your specific skills, years of experience and other factors.

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the department in achieving organizational objectives, which encompass high-quality customer order fulfillment and effective inventory management. Responsible for overseeing and facilitating the execution of corporate category strategies and initiatives within the operational company (OpCo). Provide support to the OpCo sales team regarding product assortment updates, informational inquiries, and training sessions related to product delivery. Drive the OpCo-required category initiatives and assortment in alignment with corporate standards. Implement recommended assortment modifications and foster positive relationships with local suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement Category Management and other initiatives within designated categories.
  • Accountable for the success of the category and overall support of corporate core suppliers.
  • Engage in communication with planners, suppliers, brokers, sales teams, and customer service.
  • Manage and promote local assortments within assigned categories to meet company objectives.
  • Oversee local supplier and broker relationships.
  • Provide input, support, and guidance to the OpCo Sales Specialist.
  • Conduct corporate assortment training at the OpCo as necessary.
  • Facilitate local supplier reviews and negotiations utilizing corporate best practices.
  • Negotiate and secure supplier-funded customer pricing deviations.
  • Manage negotiations and administration of local Earned Income programs.
  • Review and manage company Earned Income components.
  • Collaborate with supplier Category Captains or Advisors for focus categories as needed.
  • Support the inventory depletion process by identifying items for discontinuation and assisting in supplier negotiations for product returns.
  • Drive results in focus categories and support promotional activities and sales events.
  • Serve as the primary contact for local sales and assist Sales with all inquiries.
  • Facilitate new item and vendor creation.
  • Promote increased Sysco Brand sales.
  • Manage category equities and market pricing to uphold pricing integrity in conjunction with the Revenue Management team.
  • Collaborate and review Sales and GP results of Market Cost Price changes with the Revenue Management team.
  • Provide market commodity and industry news updates to the sales organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.

Preferred Experience

Experience in the seafood industry is preferred.
