The selected candidate will deliver expert Human Resources assistance throughout various phases of the employee lifecycle, emphasizing recruitment and employee relations. This role will act as a reliable HR consultant and advisor to departmental leaders and employees at all organizational levels. The position reports to the Divisional HR Director and is primarily based onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist hiring managers in the recruitment process, including defining roles, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and ensuring compliance with record-keeping standards.
- Provide support and guidance on everyday employee relations matters and investigations.
- Advise line management on the application of employment legislation and company policies in specific business decisions and performance management.
- Organize and enhance the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a positive initial experience with the company.
- Support leaders and employees through the ITW performance management cycle, offering advice and coaching on goal setting, mid-year feedback, annual reviews, and compensation planning.
- Promote a positive organizational culture with a focus on safety, enjoyment in the workplace, and teamwork across functions.
- Encourage a continuous learning environment by creating, administering, and delivering training and development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and current employee data in HRIS and other relevant systems.
- Stay informed about legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions, ensuring compliance in policies and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries regarding benefits programs and policy administration, educating employees on available self-service applications.
- Actively participate in the management of wellness programs and community engagement initiatives.
- Serve as a backup for bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Professional HR certification is preferred.
- Experience in supporting a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills: Demonstrates active listening, keeps colleagues informed, and responds clearly to employee inquiries.
- Stakeholder Management: Builds and maintains effective relationships with individuals at all organizational levels, exhibiting a positive and approachable demeanor.
- Project Management: Strong time management abilities with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and achieving results.
- Adaptability: Easily adjusts to change, remains calm under pressure, and works effectively in uncertain situations.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion with sensitive business and employee information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrates empathy in interactions.
- Proficient technical skills: Competence in MS Office applications.
