We are actively seeking a full-time Operations Manager to join our Geotechnical division to oversee our geotechnical-centric projects.
Our team engages in a diverse array of projects spanning transportation, energy, water/wastewater, commercial development, industrial sectors, healthcare, education, and governmental services.
Compensation Range:
$88,000 - $141,000
Role Summary:
As a Geotechnical Operations Manager, you will excel in managing multiple projects while embodying an entrepreneurial mindset. Your passion for mentoring and nurturing junior staff, building client relationships, and collaborating with other S&ME professionals across various service lines and locations will be key.
Exhibit proactive leadership in areas such as project management, business development, health and safety, quality assurance, project accounting, human resources, risk management, and other relevant domains.
You will be responsible for developing proposals and reports for various opportunities or delegating these tasks to team members.Ensure the effective and efficient utilization of staff on assigned projects, adhering to billable rates, labor multipliers, and utilization goals aligned with profitability objectives.
Engage in cross-selling other S&ME services to support the overall firm and prioritize the client's best interests, including active participation in office business development meetings and utilizing office WinPlan tools.
Participate in local client-focused organizations to enhance exposure to other professionals, foster a positive company brand, and cultivate relationships beyond S&ME.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer license in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain a Tennessee PE through reciprocity
- Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening abilities, along with strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within a multi-disciplinary project team environment.
Ability to travel to various project sites and offices as necessary.- Experience in recruiting, developing, and managing staff, or a willingness to learn
- Experience and enthusiasm for business development activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Familiarity with geotechnical software applications
