Key Responsibilities:
If you possess knowledge and experience in processing consumer loans, along with strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, this role may be ideal for you.
A typical day as a Consumer Loan Processor includes:
- Executing various consumer loan support tasks such as calculating disbursed cash figures, verifying payroll deduction forms, processing loan payment change requests, and issuing loans.
- Providing members with information regarding loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements, ensuring they are informed about all necessary documentation needed to complete a consumer loan application.
- Reviewing consumer files to confirm that all required documentation has been received; following up to request missing information; analyzing and pre-underwriting the gathered information in accordance with credit union policies; preparing files for review by reconciling income, appraisal values, and credit histories; determining loan terms and conditions.
- Preparing loan closing documents and scheduling the execution of loan closings, which may include calculating loan amounts and disbursing funds for settlement.
- Conducting quality control on all consumer loans to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations.
