About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sustainable Energy Applications Engineer. As a key member of our Applications Engineering Department, you will play a crucial role in driving the successful capture of new equipment orders and contributing to the Energy Transition with sustainable and innovative turbomachinery solutions.

As a Turbomachinery Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for providing customers with enticing and innovative technical and commercial bids in support of customer due dates. You will collaborate with various ACMTC departments, including Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing, to present accurate design and delivery information to prospective customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with cross-functional teams to gain support in product proposal development
  • Providing customers with timely commercial and technical proposals targeting all markets, including emerging green markets
  • Collaborating with the Applications Engineering team to generate customer value with timely commercial and technical proposals
  • Communicating knowledge of sustainable product capabilities, applicable markets, and customer requirements
  • Maintaining budget accuracy within published Applications team targets

What You Will Own & Improve:

  • Providing customers with enticing and innovative technical and commercial bids in support of customer due dates
  • Daily communication on both technical and commercial aspects of our sustainability-focused products with global customers and Atlas Copco internal team-members via email and phone
  • Collaborating with various ACMTC departments to present accurate design and delivery information to prospective customers

What You Already Know:

  • How to build working relationships with cross-functional teams to gain support in product proposal development
  • General product sales skills, including affability, patience, and empathy
  • Broad technical understanding of the performance, mechanical, and electrical features of turbomachinery products

What You Will Learn:

  • The skills necessary to convert green, renewable, and energy industry customer specifications and project requirements into detailed product configurations, technical and commercial proposals
  • The commercial risks associated with custom turbomachinery business and how to negotiate key commercial contract terms
  • How to develop a network of contacts and working relationships with the greater Gas and Process (GAP) Marketing, Sales, and Applications teams

About the Team:

This role reports to the assigned manager within the Applications Engineering Department and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit and dynamic team helping to drive the successful capture of new equipment orders to keep the Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench factory full and satisfied.

Other team members and collaborators include Applications Engineering Leads, Application Managers, Applications Engineers, Contracts and Commercial Manager, Machinery Performance Engineer, and Product Cost and Configuration Specialist.
