Position Overview:

The role involves executing in-process and final Nondestructive Testing (NDT) inspections using Visual and Liquid Penetrant testing methods to ensure adherence to technical specifications for reliability and quality assurance. Responsibilities include scheduling, conducting, observing, documenting, and reporting testing and inspection outcomes for work certification. Additionally, the role requires ensuring safe practices during in-process and final operational checkpoints, necessitating a thorough understanding of technical testing aspects, safety protocols, and focused situational awareness.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Educational Background:
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in QA/NDT related fields or equivalent (demonstrated) experience preferred, along with necessary training for certification testing.
Experience and Skills:
  • Must achieve and maintain certification to Level II standards set by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing Inc. (ASNT) for Visual Testing (VT) and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) methods A and C.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ship repair or shipyard environments, with a strong mechanical and welding background.
  • In-depth knowledge of ship repair technical specifications and industry standards for the maintenance of complex and critical systems and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) for coordination, scheduling, and executing inspections with various stakeholders including ship personnel, contractors, vendors, and employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
