Key Responsibilities:

As a Marine Inspector II, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting routine inspections for inactivation, activation, and disposal of vessels, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Preparing detailed reports and documentation as required, demonstrating thorough knowledge of sampling plans and quality assurance processes.
  • Performing quality assurance surveillance and monitoring tasks as outlined in the QA Program Manual.
  • Training personnel on proper procedures for inactivation and maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Planning and executing compartment closeout inspections during the decommissioning process.
  • Inspecting equipment removals and ensuring quality workmanship and safety on job sites.
  • Utilizing alarm systems and Remote Transmitter Unit (RTU) systems effectively.
  • Maintaining knowledge of Service Craft and Boat Accounting Report/Craft and Boat Support System (SABBR/CBSS) and Maintenance Readiness (MR) systems.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience with civilian or military oceangoing vessels, proficient in MS Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Shipyard Competent Person.
  • Five (5) years of experience in ship maintenance inspections or relevant military inspection experience.

Note: Candidates with a strong background in ship maintenance inspection or military inspection experience will receive additional consideration.
