POSITION SUMMARY:
Engages in the planning, design, and execution of projects within the CCPS Facilities Plan and other designated construction initiatives.
Oversees installations to ensure compliance with industry standards, prepares weekly field and design status reports, coordinates construction timelines with school activities, and manages furniture deliveries.
This role reports to the Capital Projects Executive.This is a Special Revenue funded position, contingent upon the renewal and allocation of Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in design and progress review meetings. Aids in tracking the progress of design documents for scope, cost, and schedule compliance. Regularly meets with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Principals, and interdepartmental representatives throughout the design phase.
Conducts daily inspections of construction sites and compiles daily and weekly field reports. Evaluates construction work to ensure it meets design specifications and requirements. Reviews project reports, architect and contractor payment requests, and change order requests. Procures project-related ancillary furniture, furnishings, and equipment, overseeing their installation. Manages the end-user service level experience.
Interprets construction documents and drawings. Assists in maintaining departmental specifications/drawings and document control.
Supports Senior Project Managers in managing and researching necessary ongoing updates to the CCPS Design Guidelines as requested by Operations, Technology, and Curriculum departments.
Engages with interagency governmental groups, inspectors, and fire marshals to obtain permits, certificates of occupancy, and final inspections. Collaborates with the Department of Education and utility providers in managing and completing the local facilities plan and reimbursement programs.Performs all other duties as assigned and required to fulfill the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED certificate is required.
A minimum of two (2) years of commercial construction experience is required.
Makes recommendations that significantly impact the organization and/or the surrounding community. Excellent planning and organizational skills are essential for effective project management.
A valid Georgia Driver's license is required.
Independent judgment is necessary, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision and make informed decisions.
Regular contact and effective interaction with internal personnel of influence are required to discuss issues of moderate importance.

Responsible for supervising and providing recommendations for oversight of multiple construction projects.Applies, recommends, and implements basic technology concepts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Maintenance Department. Proficiency in office management software (i.e., Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Google Suite, etc.) is required. Must possess expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical plans.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment; construction site. Must adhere to all safety protocols of the construction site at all times. Variable work environment - 50% outdoors; must be capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Typically involves sitting at a desk or table, with intermittent sitting, standing, and stooping. Generally requires standing and/or walking, as well as pushing and/or pulling. Requires repeated reaching by extending hands and/or arms in any direction.
Moderate lifting may be necessary, including carrying up to fifty (50) lbs. or less.
Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of sixty (60) feet or on high-rise rooftop locations.
NOTE:
This is a grade 21, 225-day position that compensates for experience up to a Step 4.
