Position Overview

Under general supervision, this role involves executing daily operational Cashiering tasks related to First Horizon Advisors. The Cashiering Specialist will collaborate closely with the Wealth Management team and clients to manage transactions and address any issues that arise. Effective communication of status updates and transaction rejections between the Wealth Management team and the clearing house is essential. The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in processing tasks efficiently and accurately while managing multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the processing of monetary transactions into and out of brokerage accounts.
  2. Review and authorize money movement transactions, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected.
  3. Guarantee the prompt and precise posting of check deposits while maintaining accurate records.
  4. Handle stock deposits, whether through physical certificates or electronic means.
  5. Clear legal documentation required for stock deposits, including those related to restricted stock.
  6. Review and update connections between brokerage and banking accounts.
  7. Address and resolve rejected items in a timely manner.
  8. Process Fed Wires, ensuring all documentation is received and properly noted.
  9. Engage daily with the Wealth Management team regarding paperwork submissions and the status of requests and transactions.
  10. Review and process daily reports related to Cashiering functions.
  11. Collaborate closely with other Cashiering team members and various brokerage departments.
  12. Calculate margin calls and communicate with the Sales force and clients as necessary.
  13. Work directly with the clearing house and Wealth Management team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Possession of FINRA Series 6 or 7 license (or successful completion of FINRA Series 99 license within 120 days of employment).
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of the financial industry, markets, banking, and financial planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales and/or broker-dealer environments is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, set and achieve goals, and resolve issues while fostering teamwork across departments.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to maintain focus on details while effectively managing multiple responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure. Effective communication across various channels is essential.
