Job Title: Financial Examiner IV

Join the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services as a Financial Examiner IV, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of Medicaid cost reports.

Job Summary:

The Financial Examiner IV will be responsible for conducting advanced and supervisory desk reviews of 24 Hour Residential Child Care (24 HR RCC) Single Source Continuum Contractors (SSCC) cost reports for the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), Financial Services Division (FSD), Provider Finance Division (PFD), Cost Report Review Unit (CRRU). This role requires a high level of expertise in financial analysis, auditing, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct advanced and supervisory desk reviews of 24 HR RCC SSCC cost reports to ensure compliance with regulations, specific instructions, and the Texas Administrative Code.
  2. Evaluate, assess, and verify desk reviews of 24 HR RCC Medicaid Cost / Accountability Reports submitted by contractors/preparers or providers to ensure they meet required standards.
  3. Develop and maintain instructions for CRRU Policies and Procedures for 24HR RCC SSCC financial examinations.
  4. Prepare desk review templates and worksheets to ensure objectives, project procedures, deliverables, and reports meet required standards.
  5. Track and report the status of work in the designated project tracking application.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Government Auditing Standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and the Texas Administrative Code.
  • Skilled in numerical and record analysis, handling multiple projects, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to lead and set priorities, plan, organize, and coordinate work activities for a team.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to identify problems, prepare concise reports, identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound decisions.
Working Conditions:

This position will work under the direction of the Team Lead and/or Manager V with limited supervision and considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
