Job Summary:

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled Financial Examiner III to join our team. This role will play a critical part in the collection and assessment of financial data to monitor local funding utilized as the non-federal share of Medicaid supplemental and directed payment programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and administration of surveys to collect financial and other data from identified entities.
  • Administer data collection instruments and detailed instruction manuals to collect financial and other relevant data.
  • Provide technical assistance related to survey development, survey completion, policy guidelines, and rule requirements.
  • Participate in the development, modification, and maintenance of complex computer programs, spreadsheets, and large databases used in the collection, review, and analysis of financial data.
  • Perform detailed research on governmental entities who transfer the non-federal share of the Medicaid supplemental and directed payment programs.
  • Provide summaries and determine initial risk assessments, financial examinations to evaluate compliance with state or federal regulations.
  • Prepare written briefing documents and other documents related to the results of local fund assessments for decision making by PFD and executive staff.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of data analytics, health and human services programs, Medicaid reimbursement principles, and accounting principles.
  • Skills in the development and maintenance of complex computer applications, spreadsheets, and large databases.
  • Ability to manage projects effectively, including setting priorities and planning, organizing, and coordinating the work of others.
  • Ability to develop, evaluate, implement, and interpret policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement creative solutions.
