Position Summary
The Cloud Applied Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) team, part of Cloud Operations and Innovations Engineering (CO+IE), is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Senior Applied Scientist. This role is pivotal in addressing complex, high-impact challenges that can greatly enhance CO+I operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Applied Scientist within the CAAI team, you will:
- Engage in diverse subareas to build expertise in various research domains.
- Deepen your understanding of services, platforms, or domains related to Large Language Models (LLM) and identify product requirements based on the latest industry trends.
- Review business needs and integrate research to achieve organizational objectives.
- Provide strategic insights on data utilization to resolve issues and leverage your subject matter expertise to drive business impact.
- Support the onboarding of early-career team members and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary teams.
- Identify and recruit new research talent, collaborating with the academic community to strengthen our talent pipeline.
- Document ongoing work and experimental results, sharing findings to foster innovation.
- Utilize your understanding of fairness and bias to influence ethical practices and privacy policies related to research methodologies and data collection.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience; or a Doctorate with at least 1 year of experience in statistics, predictive analytics, or research.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in a relevant field with 6+ years of experience or a Doctorate with 3+ years of experience. Proven track record in creating publications, presenting at industry conferences, and conducting research in academic or industry settings.
Compensation
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year, with variations based on specific locations.
