Applied Physicist

The Georgia Tech Research Institute is seeking a highly skilled Applied Physicist to join our team in the Quantum Systems Division of the Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Hardware Evaluation Research (CIPHER) Lab.
As an Applied Physicist, you will leverage your expertise in quantum science and/or photonics research to contribute to the development of innovative systems, sensors, materials, and devices. You will design and conduct experiments and/or simulations to ascertain physical properties and behaviors, and collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary team to advance our research goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of experiments and conduct complex data analysis or simulations
- Take ownership of a small team and mentor junior scientists
- Generate documentation of experiments and results
- Contribute to white papers and proposals
- Manage the technical and financial execution of research programs
Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise in quantum science and/or photonics research, e.g. through peer-reviewed publications
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Postdoctoral or equivalent relevant experience leading research beyond completion of Ph.D.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
