Overview

The Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer at Citadel Completions, LLC is tasked with ensuring adherence to all relevant OSHA, DOT, FAA, and other regulatory standards. This position focuses on minimizing workplace injuries through effective policy management, comprehensive training, regular inspections, and diligent workers' compensation oversight. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, this role is pivotal in promoting EH&S practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement robust environmental, health, and safety programs tailored for the Citadel Completions facility. Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Local, and Corporate regulations. Maintain open communication with leadership regarding all EH&S matters to foster a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel.

  • Strategically plan and manage EHS policies and objectives to guarantee safe operations aligned with organizational goals.
  • Track, analyze, and report accident statistics and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Review and update EH&S policies to ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary reports to regulatory bodies, ensuring accurate record-keeping and effective communication.
  • Oversee emergency response protocols, respiratory protection, confined space programs, and hazardous waste management.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits to identify and rectify unsafe working conditions.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis and implement safe work practices based on statistical evaluations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the development of corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Ensure EHS training is standardized and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in managing workers' compensation programs effectively.
  • Facilitate safety orientations and meetings for employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Establish and lead safety committees to address trends, issues, and goals, encouraging employee engagement in safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate with third-party auditors and regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain and enhance first responder and emergency response programs, including planning and executing emergency drills.
  • Ensure compliance with all permits and conduct annual audits of environmental permits.
  • Drive initiatives to cultivate a strong, employee-focused EHS culture, identifying risks and prioritizing safety enhancements.

Supervisory Role

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but oversees EH&S practices across all departments.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Manager of Quality Assurance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • OSHA 10/30 Hour Trainer certification in General Industry.
  • Emergency First Responder certification with CPR and AED within 90 days of hire.

Preferred

  • Experience in the aviation sector.
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification.
  • HAZWOPPER 40 Certification.
  • ISO 31000 Risk Management Certification.
  • Familiarity with Workers' Compensation processes.
  • Experience with FAA Safety Management Systems (SMS).

  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, capable of presenting EH&S-related material effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of initiating and implementing change.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in both verbal and written formats.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours as needed.

Physical Requirements

This position involves medium physical demands, including frequent walking, standing, and climbing. Employees may need to navigate through specialized equipment and utilize various tools while adhering to safety protocols.
