Job Summary

The Safety Supervisor - Turnaround & Capital is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating safety programs and procedures related to maintenance events and capital projects. This role ensures personnel and facility safety by monitoring and controlling safety standards in accordance with OSHA and other regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety plans and procedures for maintenance events and capital projects
  • Monitor and control safety standards to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations
  • Conduct trend analysis, audits, and accident investigations to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent new or recurring accidents
  • Oversee and analyze data to inform safety decisions and recommendations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety initiatives
  • Provide training and coaching to safety personnel and refinery staff on safety procedures and best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 10 years of safety experience (highly preferred); or
  • Associates degree in a related field, plus 12 years of safety experience; or
  • High school diploma plus 14 years of safety experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience in refining, petrochemical, or chemical facility with turnaround and/or capital project safety leadership
  • Leadership experience including developing and implementing plans and processes, developing teams, and audits/investigations
  • Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications
  • Experience with implementation of enterprise-wide HSSE data reporting/capture software applications (such as Enablon), preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or part of a team
  • Valid driver's license
