Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement software solutions that meet both functional and compliance requirements.
  • Engage in coding, unit testing, and ensure seamless integration of solutions within the overall application/system.
  • Participate in Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) processes.
  • Contribute to the refinement of project requirements and assist in estimating the workload necessary for project completion.
  • Enhance existing test suites, analyze results, and address any identified issues.
  • Conduct proof of concept activities to mitigate risks or explore innovative ideas.

Splunk Engineer Specific Duties:

As a Splunk Engineer, you will be responsible for managing large-scale, on-premises, distributed, high-availability deployments that are critical to operations. This role includes participating in on-call rotations for incident escalation and resolution, requiring expertise in L3 troubleshooting and Splunk engineering tasks. You will collaborate with vendors on open issues and work within an Agile framework while adhering to enterprise change control protocols. Proficiency in command-line operations and the ability to read and create regex expressions, as well as understanding load-balancing and DNS, are essential.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Splunk.
  • Expertise in L3 troubleshooting, including in-depth knowledge of system architecture and network configurations.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
  • Ability to read and create regex expressions.
  • Certification as a Splunk Enterprise Admin and Architect.
  • Experience supporting Splunk in enterprise environments with significant data ingestion.
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call rotations.
  • Experience with HEC, dbConnect, index and search-head clusters, and deployment servers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cribl Stream in distributed on-premises environments.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
