Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Architect to join our team in the Chicago, IL area. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in leading teams and preparing conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Documentation: Plan, develop, and execute technical documentation, including interpreting, organizing, and coordinating project team assignments.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor team members in the implementation and delivery of project design.
  • Project Planning: Assist in establishing budget, task schedule, and other components of the work plan.
  • Design and Construction: Direct and coordinate the production of schematic, design development, and construction documents in collaboration with the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Architect.
  • Construction Administration: Perform construction administration duties, including RFIs, RFPs, Change Orders, etc.
  • Staff Development: Direct, organize, and mentor junior staff with responsibility for oversight.
  • Marketing: Participate in marketing efforts and may lead presentations to prospective clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience: 7-10 years of relevant professional experience in leading teams and preparing conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
  • Skills: Proficient in Revit & Autocad, Navisworks experience a plus. Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of junior staff, experience in all phases and aspects of a project, well-developed knowledge of and experience with building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems.
  • Communication: Ability to develop, communicate, and present design concepts to clients, multi-disciplinary teams, and management. Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to grow and advance.
  • Organizational: Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects at the same time.
