At HDR, we are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Architect to join our team as an onsite technical expert. This role will involve representing a multidiscipline architectural engineering team during construction projects, negotiating and interpreting documents, and conducting meetings with clients, contractors, and project representatives.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the architectural engineering team during construction projects, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with clients, contractors, and project representatives.
- Negotiate and interpret construction documents, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Conduct project observations to determine progress and compliance with contract documents, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
- Coordinate and assist with providing clarification and enforcement of construction documents, including processing contractor requests for information.
- Assist owners in preparing, reviewing, and processing change orders to construction contracts, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Obtain, process, document, and maintain records relevant to a project, including claims, change proposals, change orders, requests for information, correspondence, payment applications, contract documents, and other related documentation.
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in QA/QC reviews, ensuring high-quality construction and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the successful completion of construction projects.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in field representation positions during construction, with a strong preference for healthcare experience.
- Strong team and leadership skills, with excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Master's degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
- Strong knowledge of local and state codes, including IBC, UFC, FGI, and other applicable federal and industry standard guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in healthcare-related projects and federal/DOD projects.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management.
- Registered Architect with a strong understanding of construction documents and specifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule) and proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Excellent written and communication skills, with a strong ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills, with a commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.
