Job Title: Clinical Coordinator

Parrish Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Coordinator to join our team. As a Clinical Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day and monthly scheduling, assignment, and supervision of nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the RN as Coordinator of Care and activities of the multidisciplinary team and/or other agencies.
  • Verify orders, maintain a confidential and professional environment, and act as a resource to the unit staff.
  • Evaluate care delivery, patient satisfaction, and work with staff to resolve problems.
  • Investigate and document resolution of variance reports.
  • Facilitate effective communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  • Promote and model utilization of the SBAR format for all handoff reports and changes in patient status.
  • Follow the chain of command.
  • Complete monthly time schedules and adjust daily to cover call-in and shortages.
  • Adjust daily staffing to cover call-ins and shortages.
  • Prepare daily assignments.
  • Retain competency as a team leader and participate in direct care delivery as needed.
  • Evaluate performance of designated staff and write performance appraisals.
  • Identify and document situations that require further guidance and counseling of staff.
  • Coordinate and participate in staff development, and assist the Nurse Manager/Director in directing the orientation of new staff.
  • Check staff competencies.
  • In the absence of the Nurse Manager/Director, or when assigned, coordinate the activities on the unit.
  • Perform payroll edits, as assigned.
  • Participate on committees, and supervise unit process improvement initiatives to improve the effectiveness of nursing practice.
