Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Tri C Company Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing duties associated with the repair and maintenance of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform duties associated with the repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, welding, or mechanical skills.
  • Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation of mechanical equipment, including vehicles, motors, pumps, mowers, tractors, refrigeration, and heating equipment.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Repair mechanical plant equipment, such as vehicles, motors, pumps, mowers, tractors, refrigeration, and heating equipment.
  • Specialized Tasks: Perform duties involved in roofing, plastering, tile, glass, metal working, welding, masonry, and painting.
  • Hardware Installation: Install and repair hardware, including utility lines and related fittings.
  • HVAC Operations: Operate and maintain HVAC systems, including monitoring, analyzing, and adjusting automated and/or computer-controlled systems.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate all machinery and equipment necessary to perform duties.
  • Team Leadership: Direct Maintenance Mechanic Helpers or Yard Maintenance Mechanic Helpers who assist in the completion of projects.
  • Job Safety: Meet all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position.
  • Attendance: Demonstrate regular attendance.
  • Software Proficiency: Access and utilize College-prescribed software programs, including but not limited to training, email, payroll, and maintenance management system.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of work experience in a building maintenance environment as a commercial/industrial Maintenance Mechanic - OR - a completed vocational or apprenticeship program.
  • Tools and Equipment: Knowledge of all types of tools in the trade.
  • Communication: Ability to read and follow detailed work and safety instructions.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently.
  • Technical Skills: Skills in keyboarding, basic math, and grammar, and basic or standard word processing (MS Word) and/or spreadsheet applications (MS Excel).
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with an email software package (MS Outlook) and the Internet.
  • Driver's License: Valid Ohio Driver's license.
  • Insurance: Must be able to meet College insurability requirements.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Diversity: Must have sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in a job-related field.
  • Leadership: Ability to direct a small work crew.
  • Software Experience: Experience with electronic work order system.
  • Quality Programs: Understanding/experience with quality programs and initiatives.
  • Trade Licensure: Trade licensure or certification.
  • LTO License: LTO (Lift-Truck-Operator) license.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands

The successful candidate will be required to occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste and smell. They will be required to frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. They will be required to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. They will be required to have color vision. They will be required to occasionally work in wet or humid conditions, work in high precarious places, work with fumes or airborne particles, toxics or caustic chemicals, work in extreme cold and heat (non-weather), and work with risk of electrical shock, vibration, and bio-hazards. They will be required to regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. They will be required to work in an environment with a loud noise level.
