About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic A to join our team at Distribution & Transportation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems within our distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are operating effectively and efficiently to support our operations.
  • Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems as necessary.
  • Be proficient in performing preventative and predictive maintenance with little or no assistance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex systems and equipment.
  • Meet evaluation standards on work orders and observations by management to assess and evaluate skill level and proficiency within the maintenance department.
  • Provide guidance and training to Mechanic B level individuals and support associates.
  • Remain proficient in maintenance trade as required and stay current with today's technology.
  • Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in mechanical areas.
  • Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
  • Familiarity/experience in maintenance environment.
  • Elevated experience, expertise, and proficiency in one or more of the following areas: safety, electrical, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems, and domestic water/waste water.
Preferred Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Successful completion of assessment evaluation to demonstrate experience and proficiency in areas or tasks assigned.
  • Good communication, verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of schematic / blueprint documents.
  • Ability to communicate and complete required record keeping functions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to gain knowledge and learn more complex tasks as experience is gained over time.
