Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all facets of insurance operations, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and resource allocation based on departmental needs.
  • Facilitate comprehensive training and development programs for staff to promote cross-functional capabilities and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure timely and accurate prior authorizations, thereby improving patient experience and financial outcomes.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at reducing claim denials and improving registration and authorization processes.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and stay informed on the latest trends in healthcare authorization and insurance verification.
  • Manage departmental budgets and productivity targets to ensure operational effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Accounting or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in insurance authorizations is required.
  • Familiarity with orthopedic billing and coding is advantageous.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential.
  • Medical coding certification, such as CCS, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical office operations, billing practices, and third-party payer regulations is necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage in critical conversations effectively.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
