About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our team at IMA Financial Group. As an Account Executive, you will play a key role in supporting our growing real estate insurance business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management: Maintain overall responsibility of the entire renewal process for all existing accounts, including policy review, setting the game plan, loss analysis, program design, data completeness within our management system, coverage & premium discrepancy issues, etc.
  • New Business Development: Support in winning new business and set up of new accounts.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain intimate knowledge of clients' business operations, strategies, and needs throughout the year.
  • Renewal Process: Kick-off the client renewal process by creating the Game Plan and completing a coverage analysis (if applicable) and conducting thorough reviews of the policies and all relevant documents.
  • Meetings and Negotiations: Prepare for and facilitate meetings with key IMA stakeholders and clients, craft marketing strategies, review submissions, and engage in negotiations with underwriters to determine the relevant content to include in proposals.
  • Industry Knowledge: Pursue mastery of the craft through ongoing education and awareness of industry trends, products, and services.
  • Carrier Relationships: Develop and maintain carrier relationships.
  • Business Management: Manage a book of business with $1 Million - $1.5 Million in revenue.
  • Complex Account Management: Play a lead role on three or more large/complex client accounts.

Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, broker experience preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically based on clients' priorities and marketplace cycle.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and developing people.
  • Delegation and Accountability: Ability to delegate and hold team & partners accountable.
  • Technical Skills: Experience working within Applied Epic preferred, experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Travel: Travel required (up to 40% based on client book of business).
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain increased technical knowledge both insurance industry and book of clients industry.
  • Designations: Hold at least one general insurance designation, pursuing formal specialty designation (ARM, CPCU, Industry specific designation) preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Organized, goal-oriented, results-achiever with strong negotiation capabilities and ability to strategically align client expectations with marketplace cycle.
