Position Summary

We are in search of a Financial Analyst focused on the sales and marketing sectors, including digital initiatives. This newly established role will report directly to the Director of Financial Analysis and Strategy. The selected candidate will provide essential financial support to our marketing and sales teams, aiding in critical decision-making related to expenditures in sales and marketing/merchandising, with an emphasis on ensuring profitable growth and return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain monthly performance marketing reports to track media expenditures and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Prepare and update sales reports, detailing monthly product sales, channel performance, and insights on new product introductions.
  • Conduct analyses at the product level to identify trends and assist the team in understanding the key factors driving sales and marketing success.
  • Investigate discrepancies between projected sales and actual performance, providing insights to enhance forecasting accuracy.
  • Define and evaluate product classifications based on size, growth, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Create a comprehensive scorecard for markets and product classifications to assess overall performance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to address specific financial analysis requirements and contribute to cross-functional projects.
  • Utilize advanced quantitative and financial modeling skills to support detailed planning and modeling activities.
  • Monitor and review promotional expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Assist in forecasting activities and provide ad-hoc analysis to support significant decision-making processes.
  • Design dashboards and reports as necessary to track spending and outcomes, ensuring transparency in financial management.
  • Exhibit a quick learning ability to adapt to changing business needs and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst.
  • Proven ability to ask insightful questions to uncover the best solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with a focus in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Accounting, Finance) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, particularly with pivot tables and VLookups, along with a solid understanding of financial terminology.
  • Experience in consumer products, beauty, e-commerce, or retail sectors is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of quickly grasping the nuances of marketing and sales finance.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Advanced spreadsheet capabilities are essential.
  • Understanding of accounting principles is advantageous.
  • This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work.
