Position Overview


The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in providing financial insights across three key market segments (Industrial, Oil and Gas, and Transportation) to facilitate informed business decisions.

This position reports to the Financial Planning and Cost Manager and collaborates closely with the Vice President of Finance, Sales Vice Presidents, and General Managers of each market segment.

The role requires close interaction with Product Management and Finance and Accounting teams.

Key responsibilities include month-end reporting, expenditure tracking, contributing to quarterly forecasts, operational planning, profitability assessments by product categories, analysis of new product developments, pricing evaluations, and various ad hoc analyses to support daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Annual Planning & Forecasting:
Develop financial models for sales projections based on market trends, share data, and pricing strategies established in collaboration with leadership.

Assist in formulating annual investment budgets for each market segment.

Reporting & Financial Analysis:
Aggregate global sales and profit data by market segment.

Conduct monthly analyses of sales, margins, and product mix by market, product line, and region.


Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, including performance summaries and presentations for each market segment.

Monitor progress on market share initiatives.

Oversee monthly tracking of investment expenditures and communicate updates to leadership.

Calculate and report monthly pricing outcomes.

Provide insights into monthly absorption analysis, identifying fluctuations due to volume, mix, and inventory levels.

Assist in analyzing bookings and backlog trends on a monthly basis.

Contribute to the design and development of Power BI dashboards to enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Profitability Assessment:
Support profitability evaluations for each market segment by region and product category.

Engage in productivity improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction and margin enhancement.

Conduct ad hoc analyses as necessary to support business operations.

Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration with a focus on Finance.

Two to four years of experience in financial analysis supporting sales, marketing, and operational functions. Experience in cost accounting and general accounting is preferred.

Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Proficient in Power BI, including Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX.

Experience with ERP systems (QAD and Hyperion preferred).
