Reporting directly to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, the ideal candidates will oversee the regular upkeep and repair of our fleet, ensuring that our workshop environment remains safe and organized. Compensation: Starting at $28 per hour for qualified technicians

Key Responsibilities

EXPECTED OUTCOMES AND DELIVERABLES

  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manuals.
  • Conduct visual inspections and listen to machinery to identify malfunctions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems effectively.
  • Communicate promptly and clearly with shop management regarding significant issues.
  • May operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve non-operational assets.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance and inspections on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, and checking fluids.
  • Service pumps and motors as required.
  • Engage in welding, repair, and fabrication tasks.
  • Order parts necessary for repairs.
  • May conduct service calls at other company facilities as needed.
  • Assist in training fellow employees as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prompt Response to Maintenance Requests

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Solid understanding of mechanics related to truck and general maintenance.
  • Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, and various safety equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and software, including Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is advantageous.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must possess a clean driving record.
  • Commercial Driver's License is a plus.
  • Provide personal tools as required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic is required.
  • Experience with concrete mixers is preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • May require travel to various company locations for maintenance tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

  • Regular exposure to outdoor conditions, including varying temperatures and precipitation.
  • Frequent use of eye/hand coordination, near vision, and hearing.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs, carry up to 50 lbs, push, pull, and utilize manual dexterity.
  • Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and various materials.
  • Required personal protective equipment includes safety shoes, vests, glasses, earplugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for specific tasks.
