Position Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Infrastructure Planning and Scheduling Coordinator role is a hands-on leadership position operating under the guidance of the Project Controls Manager- Infrastructure. This role entails overseeing the planning and scheduling personnel assigned to the infrastructure division. The responsibilities will include active participation in the Infrastructure Project Controls Leadership team and other necessary assignments. The Senior Coordinator will engage in all planning and scheduling activities related to Infrastructure projects.

LOCATION: North Slope, Alaska and Anchorage, Alaska

SCHEDULE: 5/40 or 9/80

CONTRACT: 12 Months +

This position is part of a Contingent Workforce Program.

Project Overview

The Willow project, situated in Alaska's North Slope within the National Petroleum Reserve (NPR-A), is projected to yield 180,000 barrels of oil daily at its peak. During the construction phase, it is anticipated to generate approximately 2,500 jobs, with the development expected to create around 300 permanent positions. The initial phase will encompass a new Central Processing Facility, multiple drill site pads, pipelines, roads, bridges, and essential supporting infrastructure. The drilling and completion segment of the Willow project includes approximately 200 wells and over $2 billion in capital investment.

Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Developing a comprehensive resource-loaded plan for the entire Infrastructure project lifecycle.
  2. Supporting the implementation and maintenance of the integrated infrastructure project schedule, ensuring timely and precise data input.
  3. Customizing existing procedures and offering guidance to Infrastructure Teams (Gravel, Pipelines, Power, Airstrip) for various planning and scheduling tasks, including baselines, forecasts, actuals, and critical path assessments.
  4. Coordinating planning interfaces across different phases and organizations.
  5. Leading presentations on planning and scheduling to the Infrastructure Management Team and other project management personnel.
  6. Ensuring adherence to corporate and project-specific scheduling standards and procedures.
  7. Collaborating with project teams and contractors to ensure timely integration of all project schedule data into the overall infrastructure schedule.
  8. Working closely with the Program Planning and Scheduling Lead to incorporate infrastructure planning into the main project schedule.
  9. Analyzing incoming project schedules, providing early warnings through variance and trend analysis, and recommending effective recovery plans as necessary.
  10. Coordinating with the Infrastructure Cost Lead to align the infrastructure schedule with the cost budget and forecasts.
  11. Preparing monthly planning and scheduling dashboard reports for the infrastructure scope and supporting all monthly reporting requirements.
  12. Overseeing the change/trend management process of contractors and managing owner trend and change requests.
  13. Evaluating infrastructure change orders for cost implications.
  14. Reviewing and analyzing contractors' proposed schedules, manpower plans, and progress reports, providing timely feedback to the Project Controls Manager and relevant teams.
  15. Ensuring contractors are informed about schedule architecture, software requirements, and reporting modifications.
  16. Conducting schedule risk analysis as needed.
  17. Performing schedule audits using established checklists.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities.
  • Over 9 years of experience in major capital projects within Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical sectors, with increasing responsibilities.
  • Extensive proficiency in Primavera software.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • High technical expertise in Project Controls, specializing in Planning and Scheduling, including Work in Progress/Earned Value, progress measurement, and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
