Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with clients, utility providers, and governmental bodies to identify project challenges and propose design alternatives for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including planners, architects, and contractors, to develop comprehensive project designs.
  • Create detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates for site enhancements, including:
    • Conducting drainage and traffic impact studies.
    • Designing site layouts, grading, drainage systems, and stormwater management solutions.
    • Planning parking areas, access points, and related infrastructure.
    • Overseeing the design of essential utilities and site amenities.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations by coordinating with permitting agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and design criteria.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional engineering license in Alaska or Washington, or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment and mentoring junior staff.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel to various project sites.
  • Capability to navigate construction areas safely.
