Description:
This position involves a variety of tasks, including:

  • Operating military vehicles (such as Abrams Tanks) on designated courses to assess performance across various gears, including checks for braking, steering, oil pressure, and other operational characteristics.
  • Conducting comprehensive functional inspections of critical guidance and control systems, as well as telemetering and measurement instruments.
  • Utilizing blueprints, schematic diagrams, and specifications to troubleshoot and identify malfunctions in major instrumentation units using various electrical and electronic testing equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of testing processes and compiling necessary data.
  • Transporting military vehicles to and from storage or loading areas as required.
  • Preparing vehicles for shipping by performing necessary checks and maintenance.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the immediate work area, with occasional assignments for general cleaning duties.
  • Performing pre- and post-operation safety inspections of equipment.
  • Following written instructions and quality assurance protocols diligently.
  • Completing administrative responsibilities associated with the role.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (International Trafficking in Arms Regulations).
  • Successful completion of a vetting process for unescorted access to facilities is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of a pre-employment process, including background checks, medical examinations, and drug screenings, is mandatory.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license is required, along with the ability to obtain an in-plant driver's license for military vehicle operation.
  • Candidates must pass various skills tests, including vision and physical assessments.
  • Compliance with Anthropometric Size Requirements (ASR) for vehicle entry is necessary.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and related documents for the installation of components.
  • Understanding and adherence to operational and safety directives is essential.
  • This role may involve working in confined spaces within military vehicles.
  • Utilization of military vehicle scopes and periscopes may limit the field of vision, contributing to a sense of enclosure.
Working Conditions & Environment

Ability to thrive in a production environment, which includes:

  • Handling and maneuvering parts weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Climbing ladders and accessing vehicle structures.
  • Navigating uneven surfaces.
  • Working in various positions, including overhead and prone.
  • Operating at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Engaging in physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, oils, and high noise levels.
  • Utilizing hand tools, including pry bars, wrenches, and grinding tools.
  • Availability for overtime and off-shift work as needed.
  • Working in extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions.
  • Adherence to mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
