Position Overview:
This role encompasses a variety of assembly tasks, including:
- Executing precise assembly, installation, and alignment tasks in accordance with technical specifications and/or verbal/written directives.
- Conducting mathematical computations utilizing various precision measuring tools, gauges, hand tools, and shims.
- Employing a range of hand tools (such as torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, ratchets, and pliers) to accurately assemble components and/or subassemblies as per specifications.
- Assembling, adjusting, and securing components through drilling, reaming, and/or press fitting dowel pins in line with specifications.
- Carrying out diverse, non-repetitive repair tasks post-assembly and after testing, including adjustments and repairs, as well as the removal, repair, and replacement of defective components as indicated by final inspections.
- Maintaining cleanliness in the immediate work area and/or performing general cleaning duties within the department.
- Conducting pre and/or post-operation safety checks of equipment.
- Verifying adherence to written instructions, which may include operation sheets or quality assurance guidelines.
- Executing all assembly installations and fitting operations on the final assembly line.
- Performing assembly operations on major units.
- Preparing small components for assembly and attaching parts to create assemblies.
- Assisting machinery or equipment operators.
- Operating mechanical washing and degreasing equipment, as well as fueling and exhaust systems.
Position Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (International Trafficking and Arms Regulations).
- Successful completion of a vetting process administered by relevant authorities for unescorted facility access.
- Minimum age of 18 years and possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Completion of pre-employment processes, including background checks, medical examinations, and drug screenings.
- Passing a skills assessment, which may include vision, audio, physical tests, and potentially respirator clearance.
- Potential requirement to obtain/sustain Anthropometric Size Requirements (ASR) certifications for vehicle entry.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to convert fractions to decimals (three-point decimals).
- Capability to read blueprints and related documents for the installation of components and/or subassemblies.
- Familiarity with micrometer indicators, combination squares, parallel straight edges, and feeler gauges.
- Ability to comprehend and utilize operation sheets and quality assurance directives.
- Understanding of pre and/or post-operation safety checks of equipment.
Working Conditions:
Ability to function in a production environment, which includes:
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and handling various components weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Working in environments with dust, fumes, oils, mists, lubricants, solvents, and high noise levels.
- Potential for walking and standing on uneven surfaces.
- Working in both overhead and prone positions.
- Engaging in tasks at heights and in confined spaces.
- Bending, kneeling, standing, stooping, and twisting.
- Utilizing hand tools, including pry bars, large hand wrenches, ratchet wrenches, impact wrenches, air/gas couplings, tap handles, air tools, and grinding tools.
- Overtime and off-shift work may be necessary.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
