This role is associated with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), specifically within the Division of Intramural Research (DIR) and the Office of Intramural Management (OIM), focusing on the Purchasing & Asset Management Branch (PAMB). The PAMB is responsible for the procurement of specialized goods and services, adhering to the micro-purchase threshold of $10,000, and managing IT and scientific equipment throughout its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the OIM simplified acquisition core training program.
  • Process procurement requests for products and services up to the micro-purchase limit.
  • Ensure timely completion of purchases, typically within 48-72 hours.
  • Maintain an annual average quality score of no less than 90%.
  • Keep accurate and thorough procurement documentation in line with NIH regulations.
  • Submit monthly reconciliation reports punctually and manage reconciliation logs effectively.
  • Contribute positively during team meetings.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all forms of communication.
  • Maintain effective communication with administrative personnel and PAMB colleagues.
  • Collaborate as a team member to achieve partner satisfaction and compliance with established protocols.
  • Utilize knowledge of policies and procedures to assist research staff in resolving issues, evaluating options, and recommending solutions.
  • Process a significant volume of orders through the Purchasing Online Tracking System (POTS) each month.
  • Make informed best value determinations using fair and reasonable practices.
  • Address all government credit card disputes within a 60-day timeframe.
  • Engage in collaborative opportunities within PAMB and OIM.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
