Job Summary

The Application Administrator, Bruin Learn Center of Excellence will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and support of Bruin Learn CoE products/applications, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. This individual will support environment configurations for Bruin Learn CoE applications/products and install, enable and/or upgrade new vendor releases and other software needed to support the application platform(s). This role will also assist in the resolution of Tier 3 operational support issues, playing a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of UCLA's technology offerings, directly impacting the success and efficiency of the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Bruin Learn CoE products/applications, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Support environment configurations for Bruin Learn CoE applications/products.
  • Install, enable and/or upgrade new vendor releases and other software needed to support the application platform(s).
  • Assist in the resolution of Tier 3 operational support issues.
Requirements
  • Three years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: application administration, database administration, data services, or related field.
  • Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
  • Thorough experience with common programming tools.
  • Five or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: application administration, database administration, data services.
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university.
  • Skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
  • Demonstrated software repository skills.
  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following tools: Learning Management Systems, API's, LTI's, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects.
  • Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines.
  • Able to participate in activities to advance an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Thinks creatively and proposes innovative ideas, including the incorporation of new technologies or processes.
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
  • Bachelor's Degree Information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience.
