Job Summary

The Bay Area Writing Project (BAWP) at the University of California, Berkeley is seeking a Teacher of Special Programs (TSP) to act as a Teacher Consultant for the program. The TSP will be responsible for planning and facilitating professional development workshops for adult educators, participating in needs assessments, creating and sharing materials with participants, and reviewing evaluations of workshops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate professional development workshops for adult educators
  • Participate in needs assessments in advance of delivery of workshops
  • Create and share materials with participants
  • Review evaluations of workshops and communicate with the program Director and Coordinator

Additional Responsibilities

  • Communicate with participants in advance of and after workshops
  • Work as a team, planning and debriefing with other presenters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent international degree
  • Five years or more of teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Bay Area Writing Project (and National Writing Project) mission and vision
