About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Digital Content and Strategy to lead our digital content and web initiatives. This is a key role that will play a critical part in shaping the online presence of the American Public Health Association.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Digital Content and Web Initiatives: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital content strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Manage Web Presence: Oversee the development and maintenance of the APHA website, ensuring it is user-friendly, engaging, and accessible to all.
  • Content Creation and Editing: Review, edit, and approve staff-generated editorial content for the APHA website, ensuring it meets the organization's style and tone guidelines.
  • Content Strategy and Governance: Determine the prioritization of editorial content, develop innovative solutions for content presentation, and ensure proactive content governance and maintenance processes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including the Editorial Review team, to ensure consistency and accuracy in content creation and editing.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience in editorial content development, editing, writing for the web, and content strategy.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of content management systems, direct experience with content management system workflow, and ability to articulate approach and establish position for content direction.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Microsoft Office, Sitecore, Kentico, Google Analytics 4, and web graphics products.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and project-oriented skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
