Position Overview

Role Summary: The primary function of the Childcare Room Supervisor is to foster a secure, stimulating, and nurturing atmosphere for children and adolescents within our facility. This role is essential in ensuring the health and safety of children from infancy to adolescence, addressing their physical and emotional requirements. A compassionate and patient demeanor is crucial for promoting a supportive and enriching environment for the children entrusted to your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to diaper changing protocols as outlined by the organization.
  • Serve meals and snacks provided by parents, including assisting younger children with feeding.
  • Engage with children through various activities such as reading, games, and arts and crafts.
  • Encourage positive behavior through constructive feedback and effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of attendance, incidents, and significant observations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the room and equipment on a daily basis.
  • Welcome parents and children warmly, using their names whenever possible.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Performance Standards:

  • Guarantee the safety and welfare of all children in your care.
  • Establish an inclusive environment where every child feels appreciated and supported.
  • Punctually attend scheduled shifts and activities.
  • Maintain transparent communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Provide positive guidance to redirect children’s behavior, using minimal discipline when necessary.
  • Ensure the room and equipment are clean at the end of each shift, with regular disinfection of toys.
  • Comply with all policies and regulations governing the Childcare Room and the organization.
  • Be available to substitute for other caregivers when needed.
  • Arrange for coverage of your own absences in advance whenever possible.
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of care.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to members, guests, and staff by embodying the organization’s core values.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in child care.
  • CPR and first aid certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a sincere interest in child welfare.
  • Capability to lift and carry children weighing up to 50 pounds.
