Job Overview:


The Electrical Engineer II will engage in a variety of tasks within the Electrical Engineering domain, including circuit design and evaluation, test design and execution, documentation of test reports, data analysis, troubleshooting, performance assessment of circuits, and firmware design.

Role Responsibilities:


This position involves significant individual contribution, leveraging extensive knowledge in electrical and electromechanical systems, particularly in the maintenance of BD's leading Infusion Pumps.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading engineering projects of varying complexities.
  • Providing lifecycle management support to address component and peripheral obsolescence.
  • Conducting investigations into failures and resolving issues arising from operations, customers, and suppliers.
Essential Duties:


As part of your role, you will:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot electronic and electrical circuits.
  • Design and implement tests for investigative purposes.
  • Document test procedures and results meticulously.
  • Review technical data (including white papers, schematics, datasheets, and specification sheets) to aid in problem resolution.
  • Conduct and document failure investigations following established engineering methodologies and the DMAIC process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Implement, Control).
  • Evaluate circuit designs and their performance.
  • Select appropriate testing methods and equipment to effectively assess failures and identify root causes.
  • Resolve technical challenges associated with BD products and processes.
Project Leadership:


You will lead technical projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and a leader on various initiatives related to the sustainability of BD products, from components to sub-assemblies and system levels, supporting product lifecycle management.


Additionally, you will:

  • Implement Engineering Change Orders in accordance with company policies.
  • Lead or contribute to Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPA) and failure investigations.
  • Define and implement testing methodologies and coverage to ensure product reliability.
  • Oversee validation and verification efforts.
Technical Proficiency:


Expertise in the use of standard electronic laboratory equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers, is essential. Familiarity with LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies and experience in the medical device sector is advantageous.

Education & Experience:


A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience is required.
