The Electrical Engineer II will engage in various tasks within the Electrical Engineering domain, including circuit design and evaluation, test design and execution, documentation of test reports, data analysis, troubleshooting, circuit performance evaluation, and firmware design and analysis.
This role focuses on sustaining BD's premier Infusion Pumps, requiring an individual contributor with extensive knowledge in electrical and electromechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and resolve issues related to electronic and electrical circuits.
- Design and implement tests for investigative purposes.
- Document test procedures and outcomes.
- Examine technical data (white papers, schematics, datasheets, specification sheets, etc.) to aid in problem-solving.
- Conduct and document failure investigations following established engineering methodologies and the DMAIC process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Implement, Control).
- Evaluate circuit designs and their performance.
- Select appropriate testing methods and equipment to assess failures and identify root causes.
- Address technical challenges associated with BD products and processes.
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will lead technical projects of varying complexities related to the support of BD Products, encompassing components, sub-assemblies, and system levels, while also contributing to product lifecycle management.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Implementing Engineering Change Orders in accordance with company policies.
- Leading and contributing to CAPA (Corrective Action Preventive Action) initiatives and failure investigations.
- Defining and implementing testing methodologies and coverage to ensure product reliability.
- Overseeing validation and verification efforts.
- Utilizing standard electronic laboratory equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Familiarity with LEAN/Six Sigma principles and experience in the medical device sector is advantageous.

Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience.
