Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead our electrical infrastructure team in Southern California. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing transmission and distribution line projects using PLS-CADD software.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead electrical design efforts for projects ranging from 34.5kV-500kV, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement routing and design strategies for transmission and distribution lines, utilizing Power Line Systems (PLS) software and PLS-CADD.
- Model existing lines and poles using PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole software, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Assign tasks and provide guidance to junior team members, coordinating quality control reviews for work performed by junior engineers and designers.
- Prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Lead design teams to develop and complete full construction packages for transmission line projects, collaborating with project managers and clients as needed.
- Communicate and coordinate project activities with stakeholders, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Perform thorough self-checking activities to ensure the quality of work before presenting it to senior design reviewers.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience working in transmission design or similar with a utility or consulting engineering firm.
- Strong knowledge of electrical transmission systems (69kV through 500kV).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain registration.
- Relevant experience working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company, performing design engineering and leading teams.
