About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Community Director to join our team at American Property Management. As a key member of our community management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our residents, managing the leasing and renewal process, and contributing to the overall success of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Connect with prospects via email, phone, and appointments to showcase the wonderful things our property has to offer.
  • Work alongside colleagues to help residents, build rapport, and make our community feel like home.
  • Assist in addressing problems between residents and facilitating healthy resident relations.
  • Research and forecast market trends to prepare for upcoming trends and brainstorm new ideas to keep our community thriving.
  • Contribute to running property operations by preparing reports for the Community Director.
  • Build upon our sense of community by organizing events for residents and ensuring they meet APM's Quality Standards.
  • Manage the leasing and renewal process by handling transactions, taking appropriate information, and keeping records organized and accurate.

Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in the multifamily/student housing industry within the last 10 years required.
  • 1+ years of experience as an assistant manager at an apartment community required unless internally promoted.
  • Must have experience working at Class A and/or Class B communities.
  • Must be well-versed in Federal Fair Housing Laws, landlord-tenant laws, and ADA Laws.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • On-site and/or Knock experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintains a positive outlook and embraces a collaborative team approach.
  • Shows responsibility and takes pride in their work.
  • Fluent in English, with strong reading, speaking, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
