Role Overview:
The Senior Manager of Audit Operations is responsible for leading and nurturing a team of audit professionals while overseeing, planning, and executing audits and/or projects of varying complexity. This role may also involve acting as a subject matter expert in specialized areas.
Provides direction, leadership, coaching, and development to ensure that operational results and professional growth objectives are met for the entire group.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Leads people management efforts by recruiting top talent, establishing goals, developing team members, managing performance evaluations, and making compensation decisions, while fostering teamwork and addressing disciplinary matters as necessary.
Oversees and directs a large, complex, and diverse audit team focused on significant risk areas.
People Manager role typically overseeing a team of more than 5 audit professionals/specialists.
Acts as a strategic advisor to the leadership team regarding portfolio and financial management, leveraging deep industry knowledge to identify emerging trends and operational efficiencies across business areas.
Facilitates key strategic audit discussions and provides thought leadership to senior executives.
Highly specialized expert with extensive knowledge required to manage audits across multiple complex business lines.
Sets operational direction for the team and collaborates with others to achieve common objectives.
Focuses on long-term planning for the functional area.
Handles confidential information with the utmost discretion.
May participate in or lead various projects and division initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or relevant professional certifications, accounting designations, or equivalent education required.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Advanced understanding of audit standards, procedures, laws, and regulations.
In-depth knowledge of risk management environments, standards, and mitigation strategies.
Awareness of current and emerging industry trends.
Proficient in budget management and resource allocation.
Skilled in mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office.
Advanced capability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities to ensure successful audit completion.
Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
Able to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions.
Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Exhibits sound judgment in decision-making.
Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize tasks while meeting multiple deadlines.
