Overview of the Role:

We are in search of a seasoned Pastor who excels at connecting individuals with Christ and fostering a sense of belonging within a church community. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of the transformative power of faith and will be committed to nurturing authentic relationships within the congregation. This leader will work closely with the Lead Pastor to align with the church's vision and passionately inspire staff and volunteers to embrace their God-given potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Spiritual Development:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for spiritual development initiatives that resonate with the vision of the Lead Pastor.
  • Mentor and cultivate the growth of Connections staff and leaders into mature followers of Christ.
  • Oversee the personal and professional development of all direct reports.
  • Recruit, train, and empower volunteers for various roles, emphasizing support for our Groups model.
  • Lead and implement spiritual growth programs, including connection events and baptism services.

Pastoral Care:

  • Establish vision and strategy for the Care Ministry.
  • Engage in pastoral responsibilities such as conducting weddings, funerals, and hospital visits.
  • Recruit and empower volunteers for the Care Ministry.
  • Direct outreach initiatives to serve the local community.
  • Collaborate on a Missions strategy that aligns with the church's vision.

Training and Development:

  • Design and implement effective processes for the Ministers in Training program.
  • Support the pastoral growth of MITs through education and mentorship.
  • Coordinate events for the church staff within the district.
  • Facilitate training sessions for MITs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
  • Ordained Pastor or pursuing ordination.
  • A minimum of 5 years of pastoral experience in care, development, and mentorship.
  • Proven track record of building and leading effective teams.
  • Experience in vision-carrying, goal-setting, and growth measurement.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to develop strategies to achieve departmental goals and identify growth opportunities.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills within established guidelines.
  • Commitment to personal emotional health and spiritual maturity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a large church or organization.
  • Background in public speaking or teaching.
  • Educational qualifications in human development, ministry, or counseling.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
