About the Role

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at System One. As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Pulpmill from incoming wood supply through bleached pulp, and throughout the chemical recovery loop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and utilize operational data to drive process improvements.
  • Identify and evaluate the feasibility of new technological developments and best practices.
  • Recommend solutions for the application of best practices in operations, including capital budget projects.
  • Serve on committees, task forces, and teams as assigned.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of operational practices and SOPs using sound engineering principles.
  • Provide hands-on oversight and management of projects during planned and unplanned outages.
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities within the Pulpmill as required during vacations and sickness.
  • Assume weekend call-out responsibilities on a scheduled, rotational basis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science is preferred. Other technical disciplines will be considered with relevant experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with both salaried and hourly operations and maintenance staff.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing operational situations.
  • Ability to work in an operating environment that includes heat, humidity, noise, and lab and process chemicals.
  • Confident, growth-oriented professional ready to accept challenging responsibilities with a positive attitude.
