About the Role
This position plays a pivotal role in advancing Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering within the Spring Grove facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute capital and major repair projects.
- Provide ongoing technical support across the facility.
- Offer expertise in power systems within the Utilities Department.

Accountabilities
- Champion safety and environmental initiatives at the facility level.
- Conduct preliminary studies on potential capital projects with significant business implications.
- Develop and adjust dynamic capital and major repair plans to meet the mill's evolving needs.

- Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to implement projects, emphasizing safety, environmental considerations, quality, cost, and timelines.

- Manage multiple concurrent projects from conception through to commissioning, including estimating, scheduling, and documentation.

- Provide specialized knowledge in power systems, including design, troubleshooting, and operational support for turbine generators, high-voltage distribution systems, and control systems.

- Assist in resolving technical challenges within the mill and oversee external contractors to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards.

- Support legal and purchasing teams in formulating contracts for significant equipment and labor expenditures.

- Maintain comprehensive capital asset and engineering documentation and mentor junior engineers and interns.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the pulp and paper or power generation sectors.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.

- A registered P.E. license or PMP certification is advantageous.

Key Competencies
- Proficient in applying mathematical concepts and engineering principles to complex problems.
- Strong understanding of power generation equipment and distribution systems, including compliance with industry standards.

- Experience in preparing engineering documentation such as diagrams and plans.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on delivering results.
